The Japanese government is ready to consider the deployment of US medium-range missiles on its territory if Washington initiates official negotiations on this matter, Japanese press reported, citing an informed source.

The United States so far has raised this issue only on the sidelines of formal meetings over the past three to four years, and this question was never officially discussed between the countries’ leadership, the newspaper reported on Saturday.

Britain’s Treasury has reportedly made clear that there will be “no new money” for the military despite grumbling from the defense establishment that the Army is being “hollowed out” by gifting equipment to Kiev. The UK’s elite Armed Forces have consistently ranked among the best in the world, but what state are they in today? Sputnik explores.

The US has made a deal with the Philippines to secure access to four additional military bases, closing a critical gap in its military encirclement of China.

Vladimir Putin sent a stern warning to the West after NATO allies agreed to aid Ukraine with armoured tanks. The Russian leader warned he will "respond" to the decision with means other than tanks, hinting at an escalation of Russia's war on Ukraine.

In 2012, the American political scientist Graham T Allison argued that the US and China were on a collision course for war. Allison claimed that fear of China had led the US to fall into the “Thucydides trap.”

Allison was referring to the Greek historian Thucydides, who chronicled the war between Sparta and Athens. Thucydides famously said: “It was the rise of Athens and the fear that this instilled in Sparta that made war inevitable.”

HUGE: World War III escalates as corrupt US officials seek to protect their criminal operations and bioweapons research in Ukraine MikeRivero Mon, 02/06/2023 - 12:47

The US government continues to escalate world war with Russia, while contributing to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. The Biden regime has sent over $100+ billion to Ukraine, including a variety of munitions and weapons, with plans to send tanks, jets, and other weapons, with no resolve. The US, going out of their way to “protect” Ukraine, is clearly not seeking a peace treaty or any other measure of resolve. Any negotiations have been arrogant and escalatory.

On January 25th, 2023, Germans marched on the central square of Marienplatz, Munich, against its involvement in the war between Ukraine and Russia. Demonstrators explained they were “standing up against warmongering and the path to World War III.”

The protesters voiced their opposition to Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock from the left-wing Greens Party, who declared, “we are fighting a war against Russia, and not against each other.”

For the last several days, the mainstream propaganda machine diverted its attention from the mandatory “evil Russia” narrative and focused on 24/7 coverage of a weather balloon. Although the media frenzy was part of the “evil China” narrative, this one is not as omnipresent as that about Russia, at least not yet. The rather bizarre overfocus on such a trivial matter still has its propaganda purpose, as the “spy balloon”, while insignificant at a glance, fulfilled an important geopolitical goal for the United States.

Bomb shelters across Russia are undergoing systematic inspections and repairs following a Kremlin order to upgrade the country’s crumbling Soviet-era infrastructure, according to current and former officials who spoke to The Moscow Times.

Many of Russia’s thousands of bunkers, reinforced cellars and other safe hideouts have been mothballed for decades. But as the war in Ukraine drags on, local authorities appear to be spending hundreds of millions of rubles to again make them fit for habitation.
